The restaurant specializes in duck meat dishes. Even though it was the weekend, we were able to dine without a reservation. We ordered the "Duck and Green Onion Yaki" and "Duck Shabu" as our main dishes, along with appetizers such as duck tataki and sabapote (potato salad with mackerel). The sabapote was a delightful discovery - the mackerel flakes added a subtle yet delicious flavor to the salad. Moving on to the "Duck and Green Onion Yaki," the duck fat was used to grease the hot pot before adding the duck meat. As the meat cooked, the fat oozed out, giving it a glossy finish. Surprisingly, the meat wasn't greasy at all, with a hint of sweetness from the fat and a firm texture from the duck meat. We then added green onions to the now greased pot, allowing them to absorb the flavors before crisping them up. The combination of the sweet onions and succulent duck meat was superb. We then used the fat-infused pot to cook the duck shabu-shabu style with plenty of leeks and green onions, creating a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Despite the initial hesitation of dining at a duck specialty restaurant, the casual and welcoming atmosphere made the experience enjoyable. The one-cup wines from Yamanashi were a great match for the gentle umami of the duck meat. We look forward to returning for more delicious duck dishes.

I had duck negima yaki (grilled duck with green onions) and duck shabu-shabu. The duck negima yaki was delicious with a simple seasoning that brought out the rich flavor of the duck fat and meat. The duck shabu-shabu, cooked in the same flavorful broth, was also amazing. Wrapping the meat in plenty of green onions made it refreshing and easy to eat. I could have eaten endless amounts of it.

I used it for a gathering of classmates. I had reserved a duck shabu-shabu course. Since it was a gathering of old friends, we enjoyed eating summer shabu-shabu without any reservations. The duck meat paste had a mild flavor, and the shabu-shabu meat was tender and delicious. I thought there were not enough condiments for the number of people. Since our focus was on drinking, we did not order the duck grill this time, but I would love to try it next time.

This time, I went to Warakamo-san. I had seen it before and was curious about it. I love duck meat, so I was excited. I visited without a reservation, but I was able to enter smoothly at 6 o'clock. I sat down, looked at the menu, and was pondering when the staff kindly explained their recommended dishes. Their recommendations were duck grill and duck shabu-shabu, and they said that the set was a good deal. There were other menu items that caught my eye, like duck roast, but I decided to go with the recommended dishes for now. For drinks, I ordered the recommended mikan cider. I enjoyed sipping on it like drinking alcohol from a bottle to a cup. After a while, the duck grill arrived first. It's a style where you grill it yourself at the table. They explained in detail how to enjoy the delicious duck oil and the color guide for when it's done. I gazed at the grilling duck, entranced by the delicious aroma. They explained that the best way to enjoy it is to first eat it as is with the salt seasoning. Then, they suggested trying it with freshly ground pepper in your mouth before eating the duck, or with a jelly-like sauce similar to ponzu called hebesu. The meat was cooked and I took a bite as is. The hot duck meat was juicy, and I couldn't help but smile. We all enjoyed the duck meat, saying how delicious it was. I also tried changing the flavors, but I personally found it most delicious as is. Before we knew it, we finished eating, and the staff came to ask if we wanted to switch to duck shabu-shabu or add more duck grill. Since they mentioned that you can't go back to the grill if you switch to shabu-shabu, we all agreed to add more duck grill. We then transitioned to shabu-shabu. The harmony of the broth, duck, and leeks was very delicious. It disappeared quickly, and we discussed what to have for the finish - soba, ramen, or zosui. When deciding between zosui and ramen, the staff mentioned that it would be a waste to throw away the leftover broth, and we felt it would be a shame to waste such delicious broth, so we decided to have a ramen and zosui showdown for the finish. The ramen and zosui with the broth that oozed from the duck were amazing. We finished everything without leaving any behind. By the time we finished the meal, our stomachs were full. We talked about trying the menu items we were curious about next time as we said thank you for the wonderful meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and thanks to the staff's detailed explanations of the dishes, we had a lovely time. I definitely want to go again.

Waragamo brings good fortune with its laughter, and their duck shabu-shabu is a must-try. The average rating on Tabelog is 3.43, but I personally rate it at 4.50. The price is around ¥5,000 per person for duck shabu-shabu, duck steak, and various drinks. The duck steak is juicy and delicious when paired with white leeks. The leftover oil from the steak is used to enhance the flavor of the duck shabu-shabu. The smoked duck and green and white leeks create a perfect harmony of flavors. Celebrating my cousin's graduation and job offer, we chose Waragamo for its outstanding duck dishes and warm service. The owner, who wears a beret-like hat, is incredibly kind and makes you feel at ease. Starting with the duck steak paired with white leeks is a must, as the meat juices soak into the leeks beautifully. The duck shabu-shabu broth is the best in the duck world. Eating the smoked duck with thinly sliced leeks is a luxurious experience. Cheers to my cousin's new job and may good fortune come his way. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Today, I visited a restaurant chosen by my friend, which specializes in duck dishes, which is quite rare. I only know dishes like duck nanban, so this was quite unusual for me. The restaurant had a chic atmosphere, with many young customers. It seems like a nice place for a date due to its calm ambiance. I was happy to see they served Akiaji beer in small bottles for 660 yen, although the drink prices were a bit high for this type of restaurant. The recommended dishes were duck negi-yaki and duck shabu-shabu. I chose the duck shabu-shabu, along with duck liver sashimi for 680 yen, a three-item duck cold appetizer platter for 1320 yen, and duck dashi rolled omelette for 550 yen. The duck shabu-shabu for two was 1880 yen, and I also added a negi assortment for an extra 650 yen as recommended by the staff. The duck liver sashimi was delicious with plenty of scallion sauce, but I felt it was a bit pricey for the portion size. The three-item platter gave the same impression. The dashi rolled omelette had a thick broth with a nice flavor. The shabu-shabu pot that arrived was impressive, with a golden and transparent appearance, along with a lot of scallions. The duck shabu-shabu was surprisingly tasty, with the sweetness of the duck fat balanced nicely by the duck broth. The texture of the duck meat paired well with the crunchy scallions. Finally, I ordered the ramen for 500 yen as a last dish, and it was a great choice. The duck broth-infused soup with Chinese noodles was a perfect combination. Overall, I found that this restaurant is better for enjoying the hot pot with additional ingredients rather than just ordering individual dishes. Visited for the first time with 3 people around 7:30 on Sunday. This place only serves duck meat! They use duck from Iwate Prefecture, and everything we tried was delicious! Duck meatballs, duck rillettes, duck grill, duck hot pot, and even the rice porridge at the end. So satisfying - I think it's the first time I've eaten this much duck in one meal. Oh, I forgot to take a picture of the super generous portion of green onions. I would like to visit this place again on a cold day. Thank you for the meal!

Just a 5-minute walk from Kichijoji Station, there is a duck meat specialty restaurant near famous seafood shops like Uoshu and Hokkaido products. It's incredibly delicious! If you're in Kichijoji, I highly recommend this place. The #DuckNegiYaki & #DuckShabu course for two people costs 5000 yen (for two people, quite reasonable). First, they fry the duck skin to release the oil, then they grill the leeks and duck meat until they get a nice sear. The duck meat has a nice chewy texture, and the leeks are surprisingly sweet! After you finish eating, they add broth to the pot and you can enjoy duck leg, duck loin, duck meatballs, white leeks, and Kujo leeks. The #DuckBroth is truly delicious, you can slurp it up without adding pepper or anything. The finishing touch is the ramen, which is also excellent. As for side dishes, the #DuckGizzardSashimi and #DuckYukke are both very tasty. Pairing it with Sapporo Lager and sake makes for a great meal. Two people can eat and drink for 11,000 yen. The cost performance is top-notch. This restaurant is a branch of Amrita Shokudo, and their taste is spot on. Duck hot pot is a great choice to get through the cold winter.

"Wagamo," also known as "Waragamo Smiling Duck Brings Good Fortune," located in Kichijoji Minamicho, closed down temporarily in March but made a comeback under new management through a food and beverage industry merger and acquisition, now operating as "Kamo Shabu Wagamo." During my visit, I opted for the Kamo Shabu Course, which included a few dishes and duck shabu-shabu as the main course. The pre-shabu dishes seemed like a compact selection of a la carte items, catering to those who like variety. The duck shabu-shabu, featuring three types of duck meat (breast, thigh, and neck), was quite photogenic and flavorful when dipped in the white soy sauce-based soup with green onions. The duck meat, smoked with straw beforehand, had a unique umami taste! The restaurant gave off a slightly busy vibe but seemed popular among a younger crowd.

If you head towards Nakamoto from YAMADA Denki, you will arrive. There is also Shirahige Cream Puff nearby. The entrance seems to have standing drinking seats, but there were no customers when I visited. I had made a reservation, so I sat at the counter and had the course (4000 yen). There is also an all-you-can-drink option. They explained the appetizers properly, and from the appetizers to the duck rillette, it was all about duck. There were many cold dishes, but the hot heart was delicious. It was my first time trying it, but I was surprised that there was no smell. I also had duck shabu-shabu in the pot where I had eaten the roasted duck. It was delicious with plenty of green onions. For the finale, I could choose between ramen and rice. Unfortunately, there was no dessert included... I wonder if it was on the menu? As others have mentioned, you can see the washing area clearly from the counter seats, so if you happen to see it, you might feel a bit uncomfortable. The staff was energetic and nice.

Today, I visited Waragamo in Kichijoji with a client who I have a good relationship with. It was my first time visiting this restaurant. We ordered the Duck Enjoyment Course for 3000 yen. [Side dish] Potato and mackerel salad, duck rillettes - The potato salad was dry, and the rillettes had a strange taste. Neither of them were delicious. [Duck sashimi] Liver and loin - I understand that it's not good to eat raw, but even so, it was dry and not tasty. [Grilled duck] The staff grilled the duck in front of us, and it was juicy and delicious. [Duck shabu-shabu] The duck was cooked in the remaining oil from the grilled duck, and then we had shabu-shabu. The duck meatball that the staff added was okay, but the shabu-shabu itself was not tasty. I don't understand the point of smoking the meat for shabu-shabu, and the meat itself tasted like ham. We finished with a porridge. This restaurant is popular for its duck dishes in Kichijoji, and it is always crowded. I had high expectations, but honestly, it was not delicious. The 3000 yen price for a duck course may be reasonable, but I don't think I will visit again. The drink all-you-can option might be a good deal for some. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. I tried duck shabu-shabu for the first time, and it was delicious with no strong taste and tender meat! It's served with plenty of shredded white onions and Kujo green onions, so you can eat as much as you want. Before starting the hot pot, we had beef harami skewers, beef and chrysanthemum salad, then grilled duck, followed by rare duck shabu-shabu with lots of onions, and finished with smooth soba noodles. The signature Hebessu sour drink was refreshing and easy to drink without feeling heavy. It was a delicious meal without feeling bloated. ☺️

I heard that duck hot pot is delicious so I visited the restaurant. They offer individual dishes but I also wanted to try duck grilled, so the course menu was a good deal. The duck meat for hot pot seemed to be slightly smoked, not raw. The mountain of green onions was amazing. Duck and green onions are a perfect match. For the finishing touch, you can choose from ramen, soba, or porridge. I thought ramen would go well with the soup, but porridge won by majority vote. The most popular choice is definitely ramen. Other than duck grilled and duck hot pot, I found the overall dishes to be on the salty side. Cambodian pepper and Kyoto black pepper go really well with duck hot pot. I wish they also had yuzu pepper. Thank you for the meal.

I believe reservations are usually seated in the basement. There were both sunken kotatsu seating and regular table seating. This time, I tried the all-you-can-drink course with a focus on duck dishes. The course included duck sashimi, potato salad, salad, grilled duck, duck shabu-shabu, ramen, dessert, and more. There was quite a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. The shabu-shabu came with two types of green onions, including Kujyo green onions, which added a nice touch. The combination of duck and plenty of green onions made for a refreshing dish. The broth was also excellent, and overall, the food was very tasty! The staff were friendly and efficient, providing great service. The drink selection was relatively wide, with a good variety of sours. I thought the cost performance was good. I love duck meat, and recently I was curious about a dish called duck shabu-shabu that I occasionally see. I found out that there are few restaurants offering duck shabu-shabu, but I made a reservation at one of them. When I called to make the reservation, I mentioned that I would prefer a table seat, but it seemed that for 2 people, it would be at the counter. I was also advised to pre-order the duck shabu-shabu at the reservation stage. I wondered if this was to ensure smooth service or to increase sales. So, I pre-ordered the duck shabu-shabu for 2 people. □□□ Food Menu □□□ ◆ Duck Shabu-Shabu 2 servings 1580 yen x 2 ◎ ◆ Duck and Green Onion Yaki (Grilled) 2 servings 1280 yen x 2 △ ◆ Duck Roast 1200 yen ◎ ◆ Assorted 3 Types of Straw-Smoked Items 980 yen △ The staff told me that they source their duck from Iwate. We ordered the Assorted 3 Types of Straw-Smoked Items as an appetizer while waiting for the hot pot. We could choose 3 out of 5 types, so we chose Spicy Menma, Camembert Cheese, and Bamboo Shoots. However, it was not really smoked, just had a smoky aroma. On the other hand, the Duck Roast was delicious. It was tender and juicy, truly excellent. The Duck and Green Onion Yaki, as the name suggests, is a simple dish of duck and green onions grilled in an iron pot. It splatters a lot due to the fat content, so they provided paper aprons. The smell might stick to your clothes. The duck is fatty and has a wild taste, but it didn't leave a strong impression, just felt like eating duck. The Straw-Smoked Items and Duck and Green Onion Yaki were a bit disappointing, but the Duck Shabu-Shabu was truly delicious. It included thigh meat, loin, and meatballs, along with plenty of white and Kujo green onions. The duck meat for the shabu-shabu was smoked with straw. We dipped it in the broth, along with the onions, and enjoyed it with various condiments like shichimi (seven spice). If you get tired of duck, just eating the onions alone is also quite tasty. □□□ Overall Review □□□ I feel like trying other duck dishes, but the Duck Shabu-Shabu was the most delicious. It's great to order additional ingredients to go with it. In fact, the customers next to us added more green onions. Yes, the green onions are really tasty. The counter seats were mostly occupied by couples or groups of two women. I'm not sure how the seats downstairs are, but I wonder if it's also at the counter for two men? This is a place where duck lovers can enjoy.

Duck shabu-shabu specialty store! Made a reservation and visited the restaurant. Located on a street next to Yodobashi Camera near Kichijoji Station. The entrance side of the restaurant has standing seats, which may be for walk-in customers. Further inside, there are counter seats for two people side by side. The courses cost around 2500-3000 yen, with the option to add all-you-can-drink. I chose the 3000 yen course without all-you-can-drink. The main dish is the duck shabu-shabu, with an option to add duck and leek grilled dish. The grilled dish uses the same iron pot used for the shabu-shabu, enhancing the flavor. The duck meat is thick and well-colored, promising deliciousness even before grilling. The staff demonstrates how to grill the duck meat, leaving it slightly rare for the best taste. It was delicious, with a rich flavor from the duck fat that wasn't overpowering. The duck fat was so tasty that you wanted more. Condiments like herb jelly and whole peppercorns were also provided, adding different flavors to the dish. The smoked duck used for the shabu-shabu was just right, with a light smoky flavor. The light broth allowed the smoked duck's flavor to shine through. The restaurant offers a healthy and satisfying meal at a reasonable price. A great place with a quirky name that adds to its charm.

We used the restaurant for a group gathering and were seated in the underground tatami room. It was a restaurant where we could enjoy duck dishes. There aren't many duck specialty restaurants in Kichijoji, so I think it's a good option when you feel like having duck. The staff were a bit inconsistent, but overall it was a pleasant experience.
