This is a long-established Western-style restaurant with a great atmosphere. It's very popular, so it's recommended to make a reservation if you plan to visit on a holiday. The hamburger is famous, made with A5 rank black wagyu beef and freshly ground meat. It's a juicy hamburger that satisfies your craving for meat! The demi-glace sauce is rich in wine and meat flavors, which pairs well with the hamburger. The shrimp fry is also plump and crispy, and the tartar sauce is delicious. The salad in the set has pickled vegetables at the bottom and crispy fried onions on top, offering a delightful combination of flavors and textures. For dessert, I had the cheesecake, which was also delicious! It's rich with a perfectly toasted flavor that I really enjoyed. Thank you for the meal! ( ◜ ‿ ◝ )♡

A few years ago, I saw it on "Moyamoya Samaazu 2" and thought I would go there someday. I transferred from the subway to the streetcar and came to "Kumano-mae"! The specialty is the hamburger that Samaazu also ate. (To be precise, I think Samaazu ate a stewed hamburger). Looking at the menu, everything looks delicious and I couldn't decide on one dish, so I ordered the hamburger and mixed fry. I also asked for red wine. Wow, the hamburger and the sauce are really delicious! The sauce seems to have a little brandy in it, maybe even red wine? It's a waste to leave even a drop of the sauce. I ordered rice, but I wanted to enjoy the sauce to the end by making it into bread. The level of this place along the streetcar line is surprising! The red wine (house wine) was also delicious. At 650 yen, it's at a level where you just think it's delicious. The prosciutto was elegantly arranged on a black plate. The soy sauce-based, sticky sauce goes well with the thick prosciutto. If you eat the Camembert cheese alternately with the whole wheat crackers, it tastes twice as good. The mixed fry was pretty good too! The shrimp fry and crab cream croquette were especially good. The white fish fry was ordinary, but the way I ordered (a double main order of mixed fry and hamburger) was the right choice. In the end, almost everything was delicious. Next time, I want to try the stewed hamburger and curry rice. It was not crowded on weekday nights.

This was my first visit based on a recommendation from a colleague. I called on a Friday night and was seated right away. The à la carte menu was extensive, with a variety of drinks including beer, wine, and sake. I decided to order the house-made ham, truffle potato fries, hamburger, gratin, and mixed fry. The ham was moist and delicious with a smoky flavor. Both the hamburger and gratin had a homemade taste to them. The crab cream croquette was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside with plenty of crab meat. The shrimp fry was surprisingly juicy and tender. I was recommended to try the stew next time, so I will definitely be back. I also want to try the desserts next time (the desserts on offer today included orange peel and gorgonzola Basque-style cheesecake, and pudding, all of which looked delicious).

Tonight, I was looking forward to having curry but suddenly felt like having the "Yamaso hamburger" after a long time, so I changed my plan and had the 200g B course. (A course is 150g, C course is 300g) My sons ordered oyster fry, gratin, and smoked salmon cream croquette separately. They ate at a furious speed without even pausing to take a picture. My husband had pork sauté and my mother-in-law had beef stew. The food was consistently delicious. It's a good old-fashioned Western-style restaurant in the downtown area.

A charming Western-style restaurant established in 1953. The spacious interior exudes a traditional atmosphere where customers of all ages can relax and enjoy their meal. The Yamaso hamburger steak set is priced at 1820 yen. The hamburger steak, made with high-quality Japanese beef, has a firm texture and is served with a delicious demi-glace sauce that complements it perfectly. Eating here makes you feel like you've enjoyed a delicious meal in a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

When I searched on Google, I found this restaurant with high ratings on Tabelog and Retty, so I went there with my mother and sister. It was a bit hard to find the place, but we managed to locate it after asking around. Since it was a holiday, they didn't serve lunch, so we ordered crab cream croquette, hamburger, and gratin with rice for each of us. The hamburger wasn't served on a hot plate, so it wasn't as hot as expected, but the quality of the meat was good. The gratin was mostly macaroni and was just okay. My sister also thought it was average and comparable to a family restaurant. The crab cream croquettes came in a set of two and were creamy and delicious, served with a side salad. It seems like this restaurant was featured on TV shows like "Moeyo-sama" and "Jun Sanpo." They accept credit cards and PayPay.

I think my expectations were too high. For lunch, I had the hamburger and shrimp fry for 1400 yen, and I wanted to try the gratin as well, but I decided against it. The hamburger and shrimp fry were nothing special, but they were cooked well and tasted good. The gratin, however, was a bit lacking in ingredients for the price. The homemade white sauce was to my liking. The atmosphere of the restaurant was like an old-fashioned Western-style eatery, and the service was polite. The flavors didn't leave a strong impression, and it made me appreciate the efforts of family restaurants. I would like to visit again for dinner sometime.

Dinner at Yamaso, a popular long-established Western-style restaurant in Kumano-mae. What should I order? The Yamaso hamburger is a must-try. And maybe the crab cream croquette, oyster fry, there are various options... I wonder what the Sea Tiger shrimp fry is like? Let's try it! The Yamaso hamburger is packed with juicy meat and the demi-glace sauce is delicious. The Sea Tiger shrimp is very large and has a nice firm texture. It goes perfectly with tartar sauce. This is a really good restaurant!

This is my favorite downtown restaurant. The atmosphere is great, the service is excellent, and the food is delicious. I usually order the simmered hamburger, but this time I tried the gratin. It was still delicious, but I wonder why there was lemon on it? The shrimp fry was amazing, I've never seen such a large shrimp fry before. The simmered hamburger is consistently delicious. The demi-glace sauce is irresistible. The pudding is a firm, traditional style pudding.

On December 27th, 2020, I visited the long-established Western-style restaurant "Yamaso" near Kumano-mae in Arakawa-ku. I had visited twice before and couldn't get in due to it being full, so this time I made a reservation in advance. The restaurant is a bit tricky to find in the maze-like one-way streets of the residential area. Upon arrival at 11:25 am, I noticed take-out orders being loaded into cars one after another. I entered the restaurant at 11:32 am, where they had measures in place for COVID-19 prevention, including temperature checks and ventilation. I ordered a hamburger and shrimp fry set for myself, and two simmered hamburgers with meal sets for my wife and son. The lunch prices on weekdays are a bit cheaper. The salad served in 7 minutes was refreshing with pickled vegetables at the bottom. The simmered hamburgers were served hot in Yamaso's own Yanaigawa pottery, keeping the dishes warm throughout. The hamburgers were made with A5 grade black wagyu beef, ground in-house, and were delicious. The simmered hamburgers were also piping hot, so be careful if you have a sensitive tongue. The demi-glace sauce at Yamaso is a sweet tomato-based sauce loved by everyone. The shrimp fry was crispy and delicious, and the bread was warm and tasty. The portions were elegant, so adding an extra dish like fried oysters would enhance the satisfaction. Two elderly couples arrived after us, all ordering generous portions of hamburgers, showing their hearty appetites. The hamburgers were so tender that even the elderly could enjoy them. Yamaso will be closed for winter holidays from December 29th to January 5th. I will visit again during my monthly visits to the nearby hospital in Kumano-mae. Next time, I want to try the fried oysters. Thank you for the delicious meal. On my way back, I stopped by Susanoo Shrine in Minami-Senju for a New Year's purification to refresh my mind.

Yamaso @ Kumano-mae - Amazing Hamburg Steak
We, the Tokyo Hormones group, always think of YamaKo and KamaSo whenever we visit Yamaso @ Kumano-mae. This place serves the best hamburg steak in the neighborhood. Located in a residential area down a back alley, this popular Western-style restaurant requires reservations even for weekday lunches. They use A5 rank wagyu beef that is ground in-house to make their hamburg steak. First, savor the aroma of the meat as it is. There is zero smell, it must be because they grind it themselves. The demi-glace sauce also has a rich flavor. Be sure to try the hamburg steak at Yamaso. Highly recommended. Check out their takeout options on their website!

Yamaso is famous for its hamburg steak. The European-style building has always caught my eye. They were closed until 5/15 due to the coronavirus, but when I heard they were reopening, I decided to go before it got too crowded. I ordered the Yamaso Hamburg Steak. You can choose from 150g, 200g, or 300g. I chose 150g with bread, and my companion chose 200g with a large serving of rice. The pumpkin potage was served right away, and my companion, who has no sense of taste, said, "This is corn potage!!" as we waited. We waited quite a while. Finally, our main dishes and bread arrived! The bread was warm and came with a butter marble. The meat is made from A5 grade black wagyu beef that is freshly ground every morning, and there is no unpleasant smell! It's delicious! The broccoli side dish is tender, and the sauce is a bit sour on its own, but when eaten with the meat, it's a refreshing and perfect combination. This is so delicious! However, it might not be enough for younger people. The couple next to us ordered three servings to share. Afterward, my companion said he could eat a beef bowl... Drinks are not included in the set, but you can add coffee for an extra 250 yen. Our bill was 2800 yen for just the hamburg steaks, so it might have been worth ordering another set like beef stew! Many people were also coming in for takeout, showing how popular it is!

Last year, I tried to visit this restaurant twice but it was fully booked both times. This time, I decided to give it a try considering the current situation, hoping to get a seat. As I was reading the COVID-19 measures posted outside the restaurant, the door opened and the staff welcomed me in. Despite being a popular spot, the restaurant was empty and I didn't have to worry about sharing a table. The interior was well-maintained and had a calming atmosphere with a sense of history. The daily special was sold out, so I had no choice but to go for the signature Yamaso Hamburger. Even though there were options like simmered dishes and grated radish hamburger, I chose the 220g size. The hamburger was served with a proud demi-glace sauce and accompanied by broccoli and carrots. When I cut into the hamburger, the juices oozed out, but the center was a bit undercooked for my liking. However, the inner part on the hot plate was piping hot, and I even burned my tongue while eating the edges. The meat quality was good, not too finely ground, allowing me to enjoy the texture of the meat. The demi-glace sauce had a rich depth of flavor, but I felt it overpowered the meat, so having salt on the table would have been nice. The previous customers didn't seem rushed to finish their lunch, perhaps because they didn't have to go back to work during the GW holiday period. There were flyers placed outside and inside the restaurant, indicating that they also offer takeout. Despite the extension of the state of emergency, I hope they continue to do well.

We had a party of 10 people and enjoyed a shared course meal. Some dishes were served individually, while others were designed for sharing, which was fantastic! All the dishes were delicious. The timing of the dishes was well-coordinated, even for those who arrived late. The service was impeccable, and I now understand why this place is so popular! In addition to the course, we also ordered steak and gratin, which were excellent additions. We were very satisfied even without them. After the meal, we went to the adjacent bar frogs. The drinks were amazing! I definitely want to visit again.

Hamburger restaurant in the Kumano-mae area. I went for lunch with my colleagues on a weekday, as we wanted to eat outside for a change. The soft-boiled egg and simmered hamburger matched well and created a mild and classic hamburger. Delicious. The restaurant was just right for a slightly luxurious lunch, with local ladies and even a company president sitting nearby. I will definitely go back.

The reviewer visited the restaurant Yamaso in Kumano-mae, on the Nippori-Toneri Liner line. This old-fashioned Western-style restaurant has been in the neighborhood since 1960. Their signature dish is a hot, A5-ranked black wagyu beef hamburger. The reviewer decided to try the hot stewed hamburger with a hot spring egg topping. The salad arrived first, followed by the stewed hamburger. The demi-glace sauce smelled delicious, and when they cut into the hamburger, the juices from the high-quality wagyu beef filled their mouth. The aged demi-glace sauce added a deep richness to the dish. The hot spring egg was smooth and added a mild flavor to the hamburger. The reviewer couldn't stop eating and found the meal very satisfying.

- Yamaso Kumano-mae Honten
Located a 5-minute walk from Kumano-mae Station on the Toden Arakawa Line and Nippori Toneri Liner towards Oguhashi. I had lunch at Yamaso Kumano-mae Honten. This mountain hut-style restaurant has been in business for an impressive 60 years and is a beloved local Western-style eatery.
- German Hamburger
The hamburger made with black Wagyu beef is a popular choice. I opted for the German Hamburger from the various hamburger menu options. The hamburger is filled with an egg, and when you cut into it, the meat juices overflow. Enjoy it by mixing the semi-soft egg yolk with the hamburger. The traditional Demi-glace sauce's sweetness and richness, the meatiness of the black Wagyu beef, and the rich egg yolk make it irresistible. This is a place to visit when you want to enjoy a slightly upscale meal.

On the last day of work, we had a year-end party at the long-established Western-style restaurant "Restaurant Sanso," which has been in business for 60 years. Located just a 3-minute walk from Kumano-mae Station on the Nippori-Toneri Liner, this hidden gem is nestled in a residential area. This popular restaurant has been featured on various media outlets, including TV Tokyo's "Moyamoya Samāzu." The highlight of this place is definitely their "100% homemade ground A5 rank black wagyu beef hamburger." The juicy hamburger overflowing with meat juice is a taste you won't forget once you try it...!! Personally, I was touched by the katsu sandwich. The crispy hot katsu and the chewy bread create an exquisite combination. I couldn't help but talk about how delicious this katsu sandwich is. Despite being a popular spot, the staff seemed busy but their service was quick and efficient without any wasted movements. I would love to visit again for lunch next time.

My friend with a terrible taste had lunch with me for the second time at this restaurant, ordering the hamburger set. Unfortunately, the hamburger was undercooked and seemed raw inside. I wondered if that was how the chef intended to cook it. It was disappointing and didn't suit my taste at all. I wanted to ask the staff about it, but they didn't seem approachable, so I decided to leave without saying anything.

I was looking for a restaurant to hold a wedding celebration party and visited "Yamaso" for lunch twice. The first time, I tried their famous Yamaso hamburger, and the second time, I had the hamburger with shrimp fry. Both were incredibly delicious, and I thought my two female colleagues who recently got married would enjoy it, so I made a reservation for the recommended course meal (2592 yen). The course included: new onion soup, salad, scallop butter sauté with basil sauce, hamburger, bread, dessert (white tiramisu), iced coffee, and free drinks (1620 yen). All the dishes were delicious, and the plates were stylish. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, and the bread (especially the butter) and rice were delicious. The dessert, with a choice of six options, was also tasty. The restaurant was full on a Saturday afternoon, so I recommend making a reservation. There is a private parking lot in front of the restaurant. The staff were attentive and helpful. I gave flowers to my two colleagues who got married and took a commemorative photo. Women's spirits really lift up when they receive flowers! The enjoyable meal full of laughter passed by in just two hours. This restaurant can accommodate up to 38 people for a private party. It seems like a good place for a company gathering. I will visit again for lunch. I would like to try the A5 rank black wagyu steak and oyster fry. I am always grateful for the wonderful ambiance and delicious food provided by this restaurant. Thank you for the feast.

This is my second time having lunch here. I had the Hamburger and Shrimp Fry set for 1300 yen, with a side of mini salad for 150 yen. The dishes were served piping hot, which is rare to find in restaurants. The entire meal was hot - the soup, the rice, the hamburger, the side dishes, and the shrimp fry. The plates are hot as they are made of cast iron, so the food stays hot for a long time. The hamburger was made with top-quality A5 grade black wagyu beef, juicy and delicious. The shrimp fry had a crispy coating and came with two large shrimp. The tartar sauce was also very tasty. The fried food was delicious as well. Customers were coming in every 3 minutes or so. Many people had reservations for lunch. My boss has had a couple of meetings here and always orders the all-you-can-drink course, saying it's his favorite place. I have also reserved a course meal for next month to celebrate two colleagues getting married. This is an old-fashioned Western restaurant in Kumano-mae, Arakawa-ku. While there are many famous Western restaurants in Tokyo, I hope "Yamaso" becomes even more well-known. I am looking forward to the course meal I have reserved. Thank you for the meal.
