It was so hot that I was craving a smoothie, so I visited a store. I couldn't find any smoothies at the Seven Eleven in the basement of Chofu Station building, so I gave up and went to a store near Chofu Station after seeing a sign. It was a big hit, and the Peach Frozen smoothie was delicious. It had a taste similar to almond tofu or fruit jelly, and the chunks of peach added a luxurious touch. It was the perfect treat for a hot summer day.

It's been a while since I visited Gong Cha. I didn't realize that I had to order tapioca separately, so when I first visited, I got flustered while ordering and felt a bit intimidated. I'm not good with cafes. That's why it's been a long time since I last visited. But I really like tapioca. I actually wanted to drink something like black sugar milk, but I was worried it might be the same as my husband, so I chose Passion Fruit Ali Shan Tea Aid. When I tried to put the straw in, it didn't go smoothly and the contents spilled out. Another hurdle to overcome. At first, I thought it was delicious, but the taste was unfamiliar. It felt like I was drinking something thin and sweet, which made it feel like a bit of a challenge, and it took me a while to finish it. I decided to avoid fruit-based drinks in the future.

Located on the first floor of Parco in Chofu, I visited this place to enjoy some tapioca milk tea after a long time. I ordered a medium-sized black milk tea for 480 yen with pearl toppings (tapioca) for an additional 80 yen. You can adjust the sweetness and amount of ice to your liking. I asked for less sweetness and less ice. The black milk tea offers a standard taste of black tea. The tapioca pearls were slightly small and chewy. The sweetness was just right.

[First Visit] I visited here for the first time today. It is located on the 1st floor of Chofu PARCO. When I visited today, the seats at the back were not open, so it was either for takeaway or to drink while walking. [Hmm, this can be taken in various ways, disappointing.] I ordered Black Milk Tea with pearls (black sugar tapioca) at normal sweetness. When I received my order, it said, "Please shake and consume within 1 hour." I wonder what this means. Do I need to shake and drink it within 1 hour? Or should I shake and drink it after 1 hour? It's not very clear. This kind of expression can be interpreted in different ways and is not very desirable. I hope they can clarify this. However, the Black Milk Tea with pearls was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. [This is well done.] As for the takeaway bag, I thought it was well made. I believe it is a polyethylene bag, but it is designed to securely hold the cup. Even though the cup is properly sealed with a lid, so there is hardly any risk of leaking, I still think it is well made. I might visit here again in the future.

Last year, a Gong Cha opened in Chofu Parco. I was surprised because there was already a tapioca milk tea shop right next to it. Normally, Gong Cha always has long lines, but yesterday there was no line and I was able to order right away. The store is long and narrow, with standing and sitting areas. I decided to take a break here after ordering and receiving my drinks because I needed to kill about 30 minutes. I ordered a medium-sized chocolate milk tea with less ice and sugar, and added tapioca for myself, and a small-sized oolong milk tea with less sugar and no ice, and added tapioca for my father as a souvenir. I was skeptical about the chocolate milk tea, but it was surprisingly easy to drink with a light cocoa flavor and a smooth texture. The size of the medium was just right. And of course, the tapioca from Gong Cha was amazing. The perfect chewiness, softness, and consistent quality of the tapioca pearls were impressive. My father, who was trying tapioca for the first time, said the texture was interesting and chewy. (From "Keichitsu!? ~ Tefutefu Chofu Diary ~")

It's crowded in October 2019. It's been two weeks since opening, but there are still long lines on weekends. You might have to wait about 20 minutes. The staff are busy dealing with order mix-ups. Hang in there! Even though it's our first time here, we couldn't resist ordering seasonal items. We got brown rice tea and roasted green tea. The regular black tea and oolong tea also looked good, but we couldn't resist the limited edition items. We added pearls, milk foam, and adjusted the taste to our liking... it's delicious. We didn't used to drink tapioca drinks much, but now we're hooked (laughs). The bitterness of roasted green tea and the savory aroma of brown rice tea complement each other well.

On October 18, 2019, Gong Cha was born inside Chofu Parco. Despite the proliferation of tapioca specialty stores, Gong Cha's popularity remains strong. The menu lists prices for drinks without tapioca, with tapioca available for an additional 70 yen. Ordering is smooth, but it takes quite a while to receive your drink, about 20 minutes. Rain or shine, you must wait outside until your order is ready. The Oolong Milk Tea (S, 370 yen excluding tax) is a pioneer among tapioca specialty chains. Unlike other stores with ridiculously large sizes, Gong Cha offers a drinkable amount. The drink is smooth and easy to drink, with a good balance of tea and milk. The tapioca itself is not overly sweet with brown sugar, allowing you to enjoy both the chewy texture of tapioca and the deliciousness of the drink. The tapioca pearls are smaller and easier to eat, making it easy to enjoy. The drink itself is not exceptional, but the careful preparation is evident, making it worth waiting in line for.

Hojicha + Genmaicha with tapioca. Tapioca was a bit sweet even though I asked for less sweetness, so it might be good without it. I preferred the Genmaicha, but both were delicious. It wasn't crowded, so I was able to buy smoothly. ✨

I'm not in the mood for coffee or tea, and I just had coffee earlier... but I want something to quench my thirst... water isn't enough... in times like that, the options in town suddenly become limited. That's when having a Gong Cha nearby is really nice. Yes, in the midst of this unprecedented tapioca boom, even though I don't add tapioca to mine, what's wrong with that? Haha. I don't feel like waiting in line, but it's not as bad as the Gong Cha in the city center, and it's better than before. I'll go for the zero sweetness Oolong Milk Tea or Jasmine Milk Tea. Since it's winter, I'll go for hot. (Price excluding tax: 370 yen) Maybe I could recreate the same taste at home by brewing it strongly and using good quality milk, but I tend to rely on the shop. And I feel like having it when I'm out. Next time, I might add a bit of sweetness or toppings. It's nice that the Chofu Parco store has a few seats, even though they're mostly taken. Haha.

I delivered through Uber Eats. I always order Peach Alishan Tea Aid with ice, normal sweetness, and added aloe from Gong Cha. It's a drink that goes well with aloe and I really like it because it's refreshing. It disappeared from the menu once, but I'm really happy that it's back.
