Opening on 6/3, a new hamburger restaurant by the 8th generation Yaebei, a long-established rice shop in Kyoto. Following the popular Ebisu beef tongue restaurant "Kamamoto Tanbei," it is already attracting long lines! Arriving 10 minutes before the 11:30 am opening on a weekday, I barely made it for the first round. Some people couldn't fit inside. It seems to be extremely crowded on weekends. However, they operate continuously, so it might be a good idea to stagger your visit. You can see the Yaebei's hagama-cooked rice boiling through the counter. It's impressive that they don't pre-cook the food! I ordered the Aged Wagyu Rare Hamburger 180g with Melting Camembert Cheese (2200 yen) and chose the beef tongue curry as a side dish. Since the beef tongue in Ebisu was delicious. The service was speedy. First, I took a picture on top of the rice and then returned it to the hot plate, haha. The hamburger is indeed rare, and you can cook it to your liking on the gas grill at the counter seat. Personally, I wondered about the importance of the restaurant not cooking the hamburger properly, or whether they are not concerned about cooking it well. However, in this restaurant, it works. It seems that the meat is safe to eat rare because it is aged. The smallest 180g size had a satisfying thickness and volume. It was lightly seasoned, and you could taste the umami of the meat. The delicious hamburger left nothing to be desired. I quickly finished the white rice by mixing it with eating chili oil, melting Camembert cheese, and other toppings, and immediately asked for a refill! Haha. The hagama-cooked rice is also delicious. It's no surprise since it's a popular long-established rice shop in Kyoto, but even the scorched rice is tasty. For the second serving, I had Tamago Kake Gohan (raw egg over rice) with curry, melted Camembert cheese, and devoured it all at once. Ah, I was completely satisfied! The service was polite, and I had a comfortable stay! It's great that more and more restaurants are opening in the neighborhood!
