I went to a restaurant right next door that I was hesitating between. I heard that tonkatsu makes people happy. So, I went there with high expectations. I ordered the fillet cutlet set meal, and my friend ordered the most popular loin cutlet set meal, so we could share a bite. You can choose from large, medium, or small rice portions. I chose "large." It was lunchtime, and the cool air inside the restaurant was a relief from the heat outside. I wish I could have had a beer if I didn't have work. When the food arrived, I was a bit surprised by how thinly sliced the cutlets were. The fillet cutlet was delicious, with a concentrated umami flavor in the meat, and easy to eat in one bite due to the thin slices. Personally, I prefer a bit thicker cutlets to really sink my teeth into. The loin cutlet next to me was also delicious. Maybe I would have been fine with a whole loin cutlet instead. Overall, it was very tasty. I found the Tiffany piggy bank on the counter cute. Tiffany... sounds nice... I thought as I finished my meal in no time.

This time, without any introduction, I found the best pork sauté in Tokyo. The pork is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, making it a superb dish from the first bite. In particular, the lightly fatty yet flavorful taste is a testament to the quality of the ingredients and the high level of cooking skills. While the current trend of low-temperature cooking may result in tender thick-cut pork dishes even for amateurs, the disappointing texture and lack of flavor reminiscent of boiled pork are a letdown. In contrast, the superb pork sauté at Musashiya shows the chef's serious dedication to preparing the pork. Since the menu is only available for dinner other than tonkatsu, I didn't have many opportunities to visit, but I will definitely go back again. I have posted a 60-second video on Instagram. I had the Pork Cutlet Set Meal (1,350 yen). I visited a tonkatsu restaurant after a long time. When I arrived in the evening, there were no customers... strange. The pork cutlet was tender and meaty. The oil seemed a bit old, but it tasted delicious with rock salt. They don't accept electronic money yet, so please be aware.

I tried to eat ramen at Kitakata Shokudo for 1,500 yen, but it was full so I sat at the next door. Recently, there have been more delicious tonkatsu restaurants around Shinbashi, so it is unclear whether the quality of this restaurant has decreased or others have become better, but the meat was dry and over-fried tonkatsu.

I arrived at the restaurant at 1:00 pm. The place was empty when I entered. I wanted to order the loin cutlet set meal, but it was already sold out, so I ended up ordering the top loin cutlet for 1600 yen, which was the most popular item. I chose extra rice because I could select the portion size, and the staff recommended eating it with salt. Meat really does go well with salt and wasabi, doesn't it? However, I've eaten at many different places, and I feel like the lunch for 1600 yen at this tonkatsu restaurant might be a bit too expensive, so I gave it this rating.

I visited "Musashiya" and it is located in Shinbashi. The restaurant is a popular tonkatsu specialty shop run by the owner, Takahiro Tsukamoto. They offer various tonkatsu dishes, including their original sweet and spicy sauces. I tried the fillet with salt and soy sauce, and the loin with two types of homemade sauces. They use premium Yamagata brand pork. I had the loin set meal which came with cabbage, rice, pickles, and miso soup. The flavors were well-balanced and delicious, a true taste of traditional tonkatsu. It's definitely a great restaurant, don't you think?

I visited "Musashiya," a tonkatsu restaurant ranked as one of the top 100 in 2017, located a 6-minute walk from Shimbashi Station. This was my first visit since they relocated from Daimon to Shimbashi. I arrived around 6pm on a weekday and there was no wait. I ordered the Hire Katsu set meal for 1,950 yen. The pork used is Hinomaru pork from Tochigi prefecture. It was served in about 15 minutes. The thick tonkatsu had a perfect pink color in the middle, cooked just right and the meat was sweet and delicious as always. The balance of fat and meat was excellent! I enjoyed it until the last bite.

I can't eat it every day, but I crave it every week. The tonkatsu is one of the best I've had, with a flavorful sauce that is not too heavy. The tonkatsu set meal is around 2000 yen, a bit pricey, but considering the taste, the cost performance is not bad.

I had the upscale tonkatsu restaurant. I ordered the premium pork loin cutlet set. The fat of the pork loin was elegant, and when eaten with salt, it had a sweet taste and was delicious. I wish there was a bit more cabbage for a hungry salaryman. Thank you for the meal.

Today's Poteranchi → [First] Thick slices of pork cutlet, thinly sliced, tender overall, the only regret is that the special curry roux is not currently available. I came to the store based on the information that they serve delicious cutlets and special curry roux, but now they are not serving the curry roux, which was disappointing. The most popular Top Loin Cutlet Set and Premium Loin Cutlet Set were both tempting, but I have a strange obsession of not wanting to spend more than 2,000 yen for lunch, so I ordered the Top Loin Cutlet Set. The thick cutlet is thinly sliced, tender overall and delicious. The secret may lie in the frying technique rather than just the quality of the meat. The staff recommended putting salt on the fatty part, but I lacked the skill to sprinkle salt only on the fatty part, so I tried a piece with just salt and it enhanced the flavor of the meat. There were sweet and spicy sauces available, and I tried the mustard with it, but I personally recommend the sweet sauce equally as the salt. The miso soup was rich and the rice was very appetizing. I didn't even notice when I finished the cabbage that came with the cutlet, as I was enjoying it with the rice and cutlet. The staff and regular customers were talking, and apparently Shohei Ohtani had also eaten the cutlet at this restaurant during his time with the Nippon-Ham Fighters. I wonder if Shohei Ohtani also tried the special curry roux. I visited around 11:55 and the restaurant was about 90% full. When I ordered the premium pork cutlet set, they showed me the meat before frying it. It took about 10 minutes for the food to be served. The restaurant seemed to be run by a husband and wife, and I liked their friendly service. They recommended eating the fatty part with salt. The cutlet was thick and very satisfying, leaving me quite full. The fat was tender, sweet, and easy to eat. They seem to use brand pork, which made the tonkatsu delicious. Many people ordered the regular pork cutlet set (150g), and by 12 o'clock, it was sold out. The most popular item is the premium pork cutlet set, as indicated on the menu. I would like to try the premium pork or pork fillet cutlet set next time.

I visited Musashiya after it relocated from near Daimon Station. I had the hirekatsu set meal for 1650 yen. The cutlet was cooked at a high temperature for a proper amount of time, ensuring it was cooked through. It had a good amount of fat, and overall, it was satisfying. However, with other competitors like Omo or Ippekope opening nearby, Musashiya may not be the best in terms of quality and cost-effectiveness. On the bright side, they have table seating which is convenient for groups of 3-4 people looking to have lunch together.

On Thursday, I visited the tonkatsu restaurant "Musashiya" in Shinbashi, which relocated in 2018. This restaurant was selected as one of the top 100 tonkatsu restaurants in 2017 when it was in Shibadaimon, along with Iwai and Aoki. It was a representative tonkatsu restaurant in Shibadaimon. This was my first visit to Musashiya after its relocation, or rather, in 10 years. I arrived around 11:25 before the opening, but they were already open. I ordered the premium loin tonkatsu set with large rice and a bottle of Asahi Premium Jukusen beer. The counter was already full of customers, showing the popularity of this long-established restaurant. After about 15 minutes, the premium loin tonkatsu set was ready. The pork used is the famous "Hiraboku Sangen Pork." The tonkatsu was cooked thoroughly and was very tender, with a rich sweetness from the pork. The salt used was pink, possibly Himalayan rock salt. The sweet sauce complemented the tonkatsu perfectly, without any strange acidity. It was so delicious that I even considered eating it all with the sauce. The large portion of rice was just right. Overall, it was a truly delicious tonkatsu from a renowned restaurant.

It's quite a walk from Shinbashi Station. When it comes to Musashiya in Shinbashi, I thought of the Western-style restaurant in the New Shinbashi Building! I usually always have the fillet, but this time I had the loin cutlet, and it was delicious. However, I don't think there was anything particularly noteworthy.

I searched for saved restaurants but couldn't make it in time for last order (LO) at any of them, so I decided to go to Musashiya nearby. I visited this place once in the past near Daimon, but it seems like it's been about 12 years since then. The previous review mentioned that the taste decreases as it cools down, but for some reason, I remember it very well haha. I'm not sure about the portion size of the meat, but it seems like it's still a fair price with just a +50 yen increase since back then. Now, about the hirekatsu I ordered. Since I started using Tabelog (a restaurant review site) again, I've written about tonkatsu a lot, but it's nice to enjoy it without any frustration haha. It has a good amount of fat, with the middle part fried to just the right level of tenderness. It's a bit pricey for dinner, but it seems like there's a 300 yen discount for lunch, so I think it would be a good deal. Hirekatsu set for 1,950 yen.

First visit. I ordered the top loin cutlet set meal for 1650 yen. The 200g loin cutlet was impressive. The staff recommended eating the fatty part with salt, and when I followed their advice, the sweetness of the fat really stood out and was very delicious. I added an extra serving of cabbage for 100 yen and finished it in no time. Next time, I might try the premium top loin cutlet for 2350 yen. It's also 200g, but apparently the marbling is different.

I went to Hasegawa, a restaurant in Musashiya, so I also decided to visit my master's restaurant. The night shabu-shabu course at Musashiya, my favorite among the three famous restaurants in Shinbashi, comes with premium loin tonkatsu, making it a great deal. The premium loin shabu-shabu course includes an additional fillet cutlet. The pork used at Musashiya is the special San'gen pork from the Hitamaki Berkshire breed raised in Tochigi Prefecture. The Hitamaki Berkshire breed is a special breed that combines the labor-intensive Berkshire breed (black pork). At Hasegawa, they use broth for shabu-shabu, but my master's restaurant does not use broth. Personally, I prefer shabu-shabu with broth for pork. At Musashiya, they present the premium marbled loin before frying it.

I came close to this place today and thought about having tonkatsu. Maybe I should have gone for Araki Shoten or curry instead... I sat at the counter around 11:30. By 11:45, the counter was already full. I had high hopes... First, I tried the shredded cabbage, which was a mix of big and small pieces, making it hard to eat. And then... the tonkatsu itself was tough and required a lot of chewing. I wondered if this was made from top loin pork. I don't think I will be coming back here again... and left with that thought.

The nearest station is JR Shimbashi Station, a 7-minute walk away. I came to Shimbashi for some business and decided to have lunch. I arrived just before the opening time and was the first customer. I ordered the premium loin cutlet set meal (2,350 yen). After placing my order, the owner showed me the meat they use, like a steak restaurant. You can feel their dedication to the quality of the meat. The food was served after about 15 minutes. The premium loin cutlet had a crispy coating with a nice texture. They use lard, but it felt light. The meat was tender, with sweet fat and cooked just right. Every bite was full of the delicious flavor of the meat. It goes really well with salt. The sweet and spicy sauces were also good. The rice was a bit firm, which I liked. Overall, it was an easy-to-eat tonkatsu. Thank you for the meal.
