On May 12, 2019 (Sunday), there is often no business information on the official Facebook page. You can check the business hours on the Reptile Museum blog or Share Cafe Calendar. I had 100% buckwheat soba for 700 yen, 80% buckwheat soba for 500 yen, and country-style soba for 500 yen. It was delicious. The next business day seems to be on June 9, 2019 from 11:30 to 16:30. If the timing works out, I will try their dessert next time.

One Sunday afternoon, I was wandering around the sparkling Tachibana shopping street. I felt like eating something, but most of the shops were closed on Sundays. Suddenly, I saw a sign that read "Handmade Soba Aoyagi-an" at a place that used to be a reptile cafe. The sign said they were open. I had to go in. It was around 3:40 PM, and the shop seemed to be closing soon, but they let me in. I sat by the window and looked at the menu. I was torn between choosing 100% buckwheat soba or 20% buckwheat soba, but I decided to go with the 20% buckwheat soba (500 yen). When I searched for this place on Tabelog, I found out that their desserts are also excellent. However, I'm not really into sweet things, so I decided to focus on the soba. After waiting for about 10 minutes, my order arrived. I dug in right away. The soba was delicious, with a good texture and flavor. It tasted even better when dipped in the soba broth. Maybe because I chose the 20% buckwheat soba, the texture was also good. The pickles that came with it were also tasty, and I couldn't resist them. I finished everything in no time. The soba broth came, but I had already finished the soba. I gulped down the soba broth as well, probably because it was so delicious. I later found out that this place is only open once a month. I might regret not trying the 100% buckwheat soba, but I decided to look forward to it next time. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

Kira Kira Tachibanadai Shopping Street, on the Meiji Street side. At the "Reptile Museum," where the store changes daily, on the first Sunday of each month, they serve hand-cut soba under the name "Aoyagi-an." It was around 11:30 AM with about 60% full. There are four tables and about 5 counter seats. I ordered the soba and cake set for 1,000 yen. The soba was said to be 100% buckwheat, but today they only had 80% buckwheat. The small dish came first, followed by the soba. The soba felt fresh, almost watery depending on how you perceive it. The texture was good, and the aroma of the soba was quite nice. The portion was not too much or too little. The two men at the next table each ordered two plates from the start. The soba dipping sauce was strong in flavor, with a subtle dashi taste. The saltiness was prominent. I chose the cheese souffle cake, which was moist and fluffy with a strong richness and a hint of sweetness. It contained a lot of air and moisture, making a crunchy sound when you cut into it with a fork. I was more impressed by the cake than the soba. I was served iced coffee without being asked for my preference, labeled as "Honduras Coffee," but it didn't stand out. The soba alone costs 500 yen, and the dessert set also costs 500 yen. Whether you order one or both, it's worth the value. And if they have the cheese souffle, I would definitely recommend trying it. (2016.9. Holiday 1st visit)

The reptile substation was expected to have reptiles, but there were none. The atmosphere from the outside felt like a coffee shop, but the owner shared that the shops change daily and various shops come in. Today, it was a monthly soba shop called Aoyagi-an. I love soba, but there are few shops to eat healthy Japanese food. The soba flour is from Yamagata, and the owner has been practicing making soba for over 5 years before opening this shop. The taste was delicious with a sweet flavor and a strong bonito broth. They made 60 servings from 3 am. I thought they were crazy about making soba (lol). They even had a soba manga available to read while enjoying your meal. The price is 500 yen, but it's not cheap standing soba. It had a good portion and was worth the 700 yen. It was so delicious that I even took some home and shared it with my friends in the neighborhood. They were happy to taste the delicious flavor again. I'm grateful for the delicious and affordable meal. They also made a carefully brewed coffee after the meal, which was priced at 450 yen per cup. I couldn't resist ordering a healthy cake made by a nutritionist. I also had soba for dinner as a takeout. (I'm a soba addict too)

Located on Meiji Street with no parking available. Access by car requires using a nearby coin parking lot. The soba noodles offered are Tokiwa Autumn, available in two types: 80% buckwheat flour and 100% buckwheat flour. I tried the former. The soba noodles were a light gray color, medium thickness, with a faint green tea aroma. They were served cold and drained well, with very few uneven cuts or scraps. The noodles were firm with a superb flavor. The portion size was quite generous, especially considering the price of a single coin for hand-made soba noodles in Tokyo. The dipping sauce was light and elegant, enhancing the sweetness of the soba noodles. However, the serving dish was not ideal for eating the soba noodles easily. Also, the sauce was poured directly from a pitcher without a serving container. If these issues are addressed, this place would deserve a 5-star rating. If they operated more frequently than once a month and had a standalone storefront, they would surely become very popular.
