I couldn't have a large group dinner, so I attended a small gathering. We met at 6:00 PM on Saturday, and I arrived about 10 minutes early near the restaurant. There was a sign for "Marika" under the gate that said Subaru Food and Drink Street. I cautiously entered Subaru Food and Drink Street, and there were only two restaurants. Marika was located at the back. The entrance area was a retail space, and the dining area was further inside. The organizer, J, had sent me the menu in advance, but they were still working on it, so there was no menu available yet. By the time we gathered, three of us were present, and the dinner began. Originally opened as an Innepa store, it seems they are restarting as a Gachinepa store. They had created a new menu but had not printed it yet. This time, they could accommodate both the old and new menus. We started with a toast with draft beer, followed by Rakshi 38%, Nepali Special Somras, McDowell, Old Durbar, and 8848 Vodka. We were served Murako Achar as a starter, and then we ordered the following dishes: Chili Momomo with chili sauce stir-fry (mild spiciness), Boiled Mutton seasoned with salt and spices, Marika Special Khaja Set (Chicken Sekuwa, Mutton Bhuteco, Sausage Fry, Chiura Fry, Achar, and Salad platter), Chukauni (cold salad with potatoes, ginger, garlic, red onions, cilantro, yogurt, and lemon juice), Samosa Matter (samosa with green peas in dal), and Raskara (sweet yogurt with something soft inside). Everything was delicious, but I especially enjoyed the Chukauni. The combination of Chiura and Mutton Bhuteco was also very good. It was a delightful feast that lasted for four and a half hours. We talked mostly about curry-related topics. Since it seems we can only have small gatherings next time as well, we confirmed that we would hold a super spicy curry party and decide on the details for the next Capsaicin party at that event before wrapping up. J, the organizer, disappeared into the night, and the instigator JO and I headed home. After arriving at the local station, we couldn't resist having Tsukemen at a chain ramen shop. I ate at three curry-related stores plus one ramen shop... I ate a bit too much. I will reflect on that.
