★3.3【FILE 1598】2014/01/20 (Monday) 21:36 Visited a local cuisine restaurant from Yamanashi Prefecture that opened more than 50 years ago, before 1964, along Hondoyokocho Street in Kagurazaka. The interior has a calm atmosphere with walls finished in diatomaceous earth and natural wood tables. Upon entering, there is a narrow counter with 5 seats along the central aisle, 2 tables with 3 seats each on the left side, 4 seats at tables on the right side, 2 counter seats, and 4 seats in small sunken kotatsu-style seats at the back, totaling 25 seats. During the visit, there were 4 groups with a total of 8 customers. Afterward, no other customers arrived, and it was relatively empty.
The service was handled by a female staff member who engaged in light and lively conversation. The menu includes ◆Koshu specialty "Hoto" (880 yen), ◆Horse sashimi (800 yen), ◆Simmered abalone with sake (980 yen), ◆Dishes: Tsukune skewer (130 yen), Mizu gyoza (350 yen), Grilled gizzard with salt and pepper (450 yen), Garlic chive and egg (350 yen), Grilled eggplant (350 yen), and Fried chicken (500 yen). I ordered the "Hoto" for 880 yen.
The "Hoto" arrived 10 minutes after ordering. Hoto is made with wheat noodles cooked in a pot with pumpkin and seasonal vegetables, finished with miso, and served in a hot small iron pot. The vegetables included 2 slices of pumpkin, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, Chinese cabbage, and more. It was delicious with the chewy and resilient Hoto noodles combined with the mild white miso. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere with walls finished in diatomaceous earth and natural wood tables. The "Hoto" for 880 yen offers a gentle flavor with a white miso base and chewy texture, making it delicious.
A few years ago, I had very delicious Hoto at Hoto Fudo Kawaguchiko Kitahon-ten, so I decided to explore restaurants in Tokyo. The current candidates are as follows, but there are few reviews and the latest posts are quite old, so I'm not sure if they are still in business. If anyone knows, please let me know. By the way, I visited Hotoya in Kanda before it closed (I didn't write a review because it was before I started using Tabelog).
