"Tamayura Tei" is a cozy izakaya located on Suzuran Street in Sendagi. The master, originally from Shizuoka Prefecture, serves a variety of delicious Shizuoka dishes. The first floor has only a counter seating for about 10 people (there is a tatami seating area on the second floor that can accommodate around 8 people). It's always bustling with regulars, but it doesn't feel exclusive. It has a very welcoming and homely atmosphere where regulars warmly greet and chat with newcomers. The customers range from young to old, with diverse backgrounds, making it an interesting place to strike up conversations. It's places like this that make Suzuran Street so charming.
The master of the restaurant, although still young, is beloved by the customers, and it's likely his personality that creates such a warm and friendly atmosphere. While there are various recommended dishes at this restaurant, the "Kushiyage Set" (¥1,000) is a great deal, consisting of a chef's choice of five skewers and a small glass of draft beer (¥400) or chu-hai (¥400). On this day, the skewers included ★Kushikatsu (¥200)★Hamukatsu (¥150)★Quail eggs (¥150)★Black hanpen (¥150)★Eggplant (¥100). It's a satisfying set as some skewers have three pieces of ingredients on them.
After that, I decided to try the "Shizuoka Oden," ordering ★Beef tendon (¥200)★Black hanpen (¥150)★Daikon radish (¥150)★Egg (¥100). The Shizuoka Oden is dark in color but surprisingly mild in flavor, with a sprinkling of finely ground bonito flakes for an elegant taste. I also tried the "Shizuoka Cut" (¥400), which is shochu mixed with Shizuoka green tea. It's refreshing and delicious. Finally, I had the famous "Fuji Miharayaki Soba" (¥400) to finish the meal. All of the dishes were generous in portion, and I left the restaurant with a full stomach, bidding a pleasant "Goodnight" to the master and regular customers.
