This fish market, where you can buy fresh fish and sushi at surprisingly affordable prices, is a hidden gem. It's called Naritaya and it opened at Tokyo Dome City LaQua at the end of July this year! In search of delicious seafood and side dishes, I was excited from the moment I entered the lively atmosphere of the store. Rows of fresh fish and shellfish from the sea lined up as far as the eye could see, and my excitement levels went through the roof. I always enjoy browsing the fish section at the supermarket, but this place had more than twice the variety of fish, like a seafood paradise. And they were all so fresh and shiny, the visuals conveyed their freshness perfectly. And the prices! I was genuinely surprised. Thick and fatty salmon slices were only 194 yen, and two large scallops were 450 yen. These were truly shocking prices. Not only fresh fish, but they also have a wide selection of sushi, bento, and side dishes! On this day, I indulged in a tuna-themed sushi feast and Naritaya's original tuna croquettes! There was also an eel rice bowl topped with thick and generous eel slices, and a mini rice bowl with cute-sized mackerel. I also bought some sashimi-grade American natural bluefin tuna for making tuna bowls at home. I stocked up quite well. And then, we had a seafood party at home! Every dish was delicious, but what really blew us away was the premium tuna sushi! In one pack, you could enjoy the different flavors of various tuna cuts. The lean tuna with just the right amount of fat burst with flavor with each bite. The incredibly fatty tuna melted in your mouth, combining the richness of the fat with a sweet taste. It was truly a moment of happiness. Of course, the unagi rice bowl was amazing too! The eel, perfectly grilled to a crispy and tender texture, was generously coated with a sweet and savory sauce. I hadn't had eel in a long time, so it was pure bliss. Oh, and you must try their tuna croquettes! These compact croquettes are packed with flavor beyond imagination. The fluffy texture of potatoes and the overflowing umami of the tuna cooked to perfection – it's irresistible. And at just 194 yen each, it's a great deal! The next day, I used the lean bluefin tuna to make a marinated rice bowl. There was no fishy smell at all, and the tender and moist texture was exquisite. It was heavenly when placed on piping hot rice. Seriously, the place is so lovely that I would become a regular if it were in my neighborhood. It's conveniently located right by Korakuen Station, and since it's inside a commercial facility, it's easy to drop by after a day of leisure. They have everything, from fish to side dishes, making it a definite ally for homemakers. I would even consider getting off at Korakuen Station just to visit this fantastic fish market. Thank you for the delicious meal."
