"Soup Stock Tokyo," a specialty soup shop, was founded by Mr. Masamichi Tohyama, in collaboration with JR East Japan Retail Net. Currently, JR East Japan holds a one-third stake in the business. The "Umi" (1,080 yen) bento from Fukushima Station had a smaller size than expected. It was more like an elegant version of the seaweed bento found in other bentos. Now, let's unwrap the packaging. On top of the rice, there's roasted seaweed with bonito flakes and soy sauce, followed by various toppings: white radish and cod roe salad, spinach namul, salted daikon, rolled omelet, tempura fish cake, and salt-grilled salmon. The flavors are quite bold, with the rolled omelet having a refined taste, while the salt-grilled salmon is quite salty. In terms of portion size, it might be a bit small for young people but just right for the elderly. Whether it's worth the price over a thousand yen is debatable. 😅
