"もっちー's personality shines brilliantly! "Sushi Akazu Moonsuki," about a 5-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station. Among all the Sushi Akazu that have made their mark through the years, this is my favorite place. They serve original red vinegar-seasoned rice with fresh seasonal fish sushi, and their creative dishes are fascinating! After a long time, I went to see Moっちー-san. The "Chutoro" (medium fatty tuna) was outstanding. It had a firm and meaty texture with their original blend of red vinegar and slightly firm rice. Delicious! I savored every bite.
The highlight was the "Toro Taku" (fatty tuna pressed sushi) in a mega-ton size can. They offered four sizes: 1. Long can-sized Toro Taku, 2. Canned coffee-sized Toro Taku, 3. Regular-sized Toro Taku, and 4. Pinky finger-sized Toro Taku, and you could choose. This time, I chose the second option, and it was packed with delicious Toro Taku. I thoroughly enjoyed Moっちー's Toro Taku after a long time.
The "Kuruma Ebi" (live prawn) was cooked deliciously. It was a nostalgic dish with Moっちー's signature pose. The course included:
- Akashi Red Sea Bream with sake lees
- Akashi Water Octopus
- Nagasaki Kue
- Chutoro from Aomori
- Bonito three ways with seaweed pickles, green onions, and ginger paste
- White Sweet Snapper
- Isaki with excellent fat content
- Black Mutsu Small Bowl with salmon roe
- Hokki Clam
- Aomori Toro
- Scallop charcoal-grilled with liver sauce and red vinegar-seasoned rice in the shape of a snowman
- Kohada (gizzard shad)
- Amakusa Kuruma Ebi (sweet shrimp) with yolk soy sauce dressing
- Uni from Hokkaido
- Nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) charcoal-grilled to remove excess fat, with Nara pickles and large leaf
- Anago from Miyagi
- Toro Taku in a canned coffee-sized can
- Dessert ⭐️ (see the posted photo)
This restaurant is a place of great fortune, where I met @k.a0221k.a by chance a few years ago. We had a wonderful time reminiscing about that encounter and our memories while enjoying sushi. Don't forget to save this restaurant on your list of places to visit. You can find their Instagram posts at @zerokun01."
