【外带】Sazae Food, famous for "Tokachi Ohagi," was founded in Hokkaido and has a history of over 50 years, with its products available in department stores and supermarkets in Tohoku and Kanto regions! Originally, it all began with the founder, Tomi Nomura, starting out at Hakodate's morning market! While their expansion into the Tokyo area didn't go as planned and faced various challenges, I hope they continue to thrive in Hokkaido.
This Sazae shop is located on the first floor of the Seiyu Nishimachi store, in the Nishimachi area of Sapporo's Nishi Ward. The location is about 100 meters west of the intersection of Teine Sagamatsu-dori and Hokkaido Route 124 (Miyanozawa Kita Ichijo Line, former National Route 5), heading towards Sapporo central area.
On March 5, 2022, at 2:00 PM, I made my first visit? After having some soup curry at Mohan Dish and engaging in some food blogging activities, I headed to Seiyu Nishimachi store. I did some shopping at the 100-yen store, had a coffee, and then came to Sazae store. While I was browsing the items lined up in front of the store, the staff didn't come out from the back even when I picked up and looked at some items. So, I lightly called out, but still, no one came out from the back. Finally, they appeared after I rang the buzzer (/・ω・)/ When other customers started browsing as well, they finally emerged (laughs).
I felt a bit frustrated, so I didn't buy too much (・ω・) I bought four kinds of flavored dumplings for 86 yen. It took quite some time from buying them to eating at home, so they are a bit cold, but that's expected.
Recommended points: There are four flavors—red bean paste, black sesame, chunky red bean, and soy sauce—all in one, so you can enjoy them in a single piece. I find them a bit on the sweet side, so one piece is satisfying enough for me.
Sazae often operates as a tenant in supermarkets, and I use it frequently, but I hadn't posted any reviews until now (00). I also like other things like oyaki, bekomo, and dumplings, so I'll post reviews more often in the future.
